Pilot & Accommodation Ladder

The accommodation ladder is a one-point access to ship’s deck for shore personal, port lashing / cargo crew and seafarers. The use of a combination ladder, an accommodation ladder as well as a pilot ladder, is needed when the freeboard of the ship is more than 9 meters. There is already a lot of information in the internet relating to proper use and maintenance of pilot and accommodation ladders. However, huge number of incidents still happen due to improper rigging of ladders, especially combination ladders. This is an extensive course developed to address the frequent mistakes done by ship’s crew while rigging up ladders. It also talks about the correct maintenance procedures.
